Optimizing boiler systems with low-cost retrofits

Energy Trust offers a variety of incentives for low-cost retrofits on boiler systems at multifamily properties. A well-tuned, efficient boiler system can be achieved without a major capital commitment.

Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) are a low-cost retrofit option for radiators with simple on-off valves. By upgrading to TRVs multifamily property owners can get up to $100 in cash incentives per TRV while also improving system efficiency and tenant comfort.

Fully functional steam traps are essential for maintaining boiler efficiency in steam systems. Energy Trust offers a $100 incentive for repairing or replacing failed open steam traps in multifamily buildings.

Our newest offering for boiler systems is the hydronic heating circulator incentive. Energy Trust provides up to $750 for qualifying recirculation pumps featuring electronically commutated motors (ECMs). ECM pumps offer variable speed control to precisely meet system demand. Paired with TRVs, an ECM pump can not only save energy but also extend the life of a boiler system by reducing system pressure and optimizing demand cycles.

Not all boiler systems require a new boiler to be more efficient. Take advantage of our incentives to provide your multifamily customers with low-cost retrofit options.
