Each year, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) honors individuals and teams leading the way in energy efficiency with the Leadership in Energy Efficiency Awards. This year, Grande Ronde’s Creekside Elder Housing project, a new housing development built by the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde, was recognized by NEEA for leadership in innovative collaboration.
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Energy Trust of Oregon, and NEEA collaborated on the project to build 24 affordable, comfortable, and climate-resilient homes for Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde tribal elders. The award acknowledges the three organizations for implementing innovative energy efficiency solutions including heavy insulation, installed solar and solar + storage systems, and triple-pane windows. To promote these energy efficiency solutions, NEEA provided a window pilot for the project and EPS New Construction provided incentives for all homes.
