How to apply for custom Existing Buildings incentives

a street view of a large contemporary building with many windowsEnergy-efficient equipment that is not eligible for standard Existing Buildings incentives in Oregon or Washington may still be eligible for custom Existing Buildings incentives. Projects eligible for custom incentives are typically larger and more complex, and require a technical analysis or other technical assistance in the project design process. Receiving incentives for a custom project typically includes the following steps:

  • Analyze—Perform a technical analysis of proposed energy-saving upgrades
  • Review—Energy Trust verifies the savings estimates and cost
  • Offer—Energy Trust provides an incentive offer for qualifying upgrades to be paid upon completion
  • Commit—Accept the offer indicating intent to proceed with installation and reserve your incentive
  • Install—Purchase and install qualified equipment
  • Receive your incentive—Energy Trust reviews the documentation and, if it is complete and acceptable, provides a custom project incentive check. A post-installation verification may be required

All equipment purchases must receive pre-approval by Energy Trust to qualify for custom incentives. An Energy Trust representative will work with you through each step of the process.
