Updated: Multifamily incentive changes as of January 1, 2015


The following multifamily incentive changes went into effect January 1, 2015:

Water heating
Incentive increased for multifamily property types with five attached units or more, duplex, triplex and fourplex properties for gas customers:

  • Commercial gas water heater: Incentive increased from $2.50 to $4.00 per kBtuh.

HVAC
Incentive increased for multifamily property types with five attached units or more, duplex, triplex and fourplex properties for gas customers:

  • High-efficiency condensing boiler with electronic ignition: Minimum 90 percent thermal efficiency, incentive increased from $4.00 to $6.00 per kBtuh.

Windows
New incentives for condominiums and townhomes, for electric and gas customers:

  • Windows: Tier 1, U-value of 0.28 to 0.30, unit incentive of $1.75 per square foot of window
  • Windows: Tier 2, U-value of 0.27 or lower, unit incentive of $4.00 per square foot of window

Modified incentive requirement for multifamily property types with five attached units or more, duplex, triplex and fourplex properties, for electric customers:

  • Windows: Electric heated building, existing condition single pane or double pane; U-value changed to 0.30 or lower (was 0.26-0.30).

Appliances
Modified incentive requirement for all multifamily property types

  • ENERGY STAR® refrigerator 7.75 cubic feet or greater: no longer required to be 20 percent greater than federal standard. Must be active on ENERGY STAR® certified list.

Commercial foodservice equipment
Changes to incentives offered to assisted living, retirement, campus living and student housing properties are below. All appliances must have an ENERGY STAR® rating to qualify.

  • Gas griddle: unit incentive of $500 each
  • Convection oven, gas, full size: unit incentive of $500 each
  • Convection oven, electric, full or half size: unit incentive of $500 each
  • Gas fryer: incentive of $800 per vat
  • Electric hot food cabinet, full size, greater than or equal to 15 cubic feet: unit incentive of $1,000
  • Electric hot food cabinet, half size, up to 5 cubic feet: unit incentive of $500
  • Electric steam cooker: unit incentive of $1,300 each
  • Gas steam cooker: unit incentive of $2,000 each
  • Vent hood, 3 horsepower or greater: must be an Oregon customer of PGE or Pacific Power to qualify, must have variable speed drive, incentive of $750 per horsepower
  • Dishwasher, high temperature, under counter: unit incentive of $900 each
  • Dishwasher, high/low temperature, single tank door/upright: unit incentive of $900 each.
  • Dishwasher, conveyor, high/low temperature: unit incentive of $900 each.
