Solar program announces residential incentive increase for January 9, 2018*

On January 9, 2018*, the standard residential incentive will increase in response to market conditions. This change is being made in anticipation of the sunset of the Residential Energy Tax Credit (RETC) at the end of 2017. Only projects that have not applied for a Residential Energy Tax Credit (RETC) from the Oregon Department of Energy will be eligible for the higher incentive rate.

The standard residential solar incentive will begin 2018 Step 1 at the following levels:

PGE Residential2018 Step 1$0.60/W to $4,800
Pacific Power Residential2018 Step 1$0.55/W to $4,400

During 2018, the Solar program will manage the standard residential solar incentive based on available budget, volume, installed cost and market conditions. Contact Jeni Hall, senior project manager – solar, if you have questions. For the most current information on Solar incentives refer to the Solar Electric Incentive Status report online.

*Based on feedback from trade allies, the solar program has moved the date on which new residential incentives rates will begin from January 1, 2018 to January 9, 2018.
