Savings Within Reach income requirement updates


Energy Trust refreshed the Savings Within Reach income requirement thresholds and is temporarily extending eligibility to customers that have experienced employment disruptions related to COVID-19 through the end of 2020.

Income minimum and maximum thresholds are updated in alignment with community action agency income guidelines and Oregon moderate income statutes within the Affordable Housing Covenants.  Updated income guidelines will go into effect July 1, 2020:

Additionally, temporary eligibility will be offered for customers who have experienced employment disruptions related to COVID-19 and are eligible to receive assistance from local, state and/or federal government or eligible to participate in a community-based emergency fund grant system. Examples of assistance programs include, but are not limited to:

  • The Oregon Department of Employment’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) Benefits and/or the current Federal CAREs Act or future Federal unemployment assistance programs related to COVID relief efforts (currently includes the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) benefits and/or the CARES Act Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program (PUA)) or;
  • A wage replacement emergency fund for culturally specific communities of the state that are not eligible to receive public benefits such as the Oregon Worker Relief Fund.

This temporary eligibility will be in effect for installations through December 31, 2020.
