Portland General Electric updates Distribution Interconnection Handbook

Portland General Electric (PGE) has updated their Distribution Interconnection Handbook which describes the process and technical requirements for interconnecting distributed energy resources (DERs) to the electric grid and PGE’s methods for evaluating compliance with their requirements.

For the purposes of this handbook, distributed energy resources (DERs) are defined as equipment capable of delivering electric power, including both generators and energy storage technologies, that can be interconnected with the PGE system or connected through net-metering at a customer’s home or business.

The handbook applies to net-metered projects, small generator or qualifying facility projects, and Community Solar projects.

You can access the PGE Distribution Interconnection Handbook online. If you have any questions or for more information contact netmetering@pgn.com.
