Resources for energy-efficiency financing

WomanHoldingMoneyFinancing energy-efficiency upgrades can be an appealing option for customers who need to replace broken equipment or who don’t have cash on hand to make desired upgrades. Energy Trust connects trade allies with several customer financing options, such as the Energy Trust lending allies, on-bill repayment for Savings Within Reach customers in Oregon, and on-bill repayment for NW Natural customers in SW Washington.

Learn more about energy-efficiency financing trends and innovations through the many available webinars and white papers:

  • The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, ACEEE, published a white paper in 2011 called “Energy Efficiency Finance 101: Understanding the Marketplace.” It contains information that’s still relevant nearly four years later.
  • The Yale Center for Business and the Environment produces a series of podcasts called Blueprint for Efficiency. The series archives are available on iTunes, and you can browse to find titles on energy-efficiency financing.
  • Efficiency First, a national trade association for the home performance industry, offers webinars including relevant discussions on energy-efficiency financing. Efficiency First has a membership cost, and non-members can attend webinars for a fee. Energy Trust may reimburse a portion of this cost to trade allies through the Business Development Fund.
