Starting June 1, select smart thermostats will qualify for a $50 incentive on existing multifamily properties. Smart thermostats utilize a motion sensor to detect occupancy and can automatically adjust living space temperatures while unoccupied.

Qualifying models include any Nest Learning Thermostat and Ecobee3 or Ecobee4 by Ecobee (Ecobee3 Lite does not qualify). Thermostats must be connected to internet through a Wi-Fi network and configured with the home’s location. The customer’s primary heat source must be an electric forced-air furnace or a ducted heat pump with electricity provided by Portland General Electric or Pacific Power, or a gas forced-air furnace with gas provided by NW Natural, Cascade Natural Gas or Avista.
