Pending paperwork tips and tricks

Common Pending Paperwork Errors

Tired of having your submissions sent to Pending Paperwork? Below are the top three pending paperwork issues and how to avoid them.

  1. Lowest qualifying TSRF shown on solar resource does not match what is entered in PowerClerk. This field should contain the lowest eligible array’s TSRF reading as listed on the solar resource. Energy Trust will often send projects to Pending Paperwork if the average of all arrays is listed, or if the lowest reading on the resource for non-qualifying solar is on the application.
  2. Nameplate energy capacity (kWh) is not shown on one-line diagram (for battery storage projects only). Please use the exact capacity and do not round.
  3. PV/inverter model numbers do not match. Ensure that all fields exactly match submitted application materials. PowerClerk fields need to match the one-line, physical layout, solar resource, and incentive application.

Request to remove adders from “Total Installed Project Cost”

To improve accuracy of cost analyses, Energy Trust asks that trade allies no longer include costs of adders, like reroofs, structural improvements and main panel upgrades in the “Total Installed Project Cost” field in PowerClerk. Adders skew our solar cost analyses upward, resulting in inaccurate and unclear data on the Solar Status Report. Please continue including costs associated with trenching.

E-manuals for Residential Customers

Lastly, did you know Energy Trust updated its Installation Requirements to allow electronic manuals? Residential customers may be given an electronic manual in place of a paper copy. The manual must also be uploaded to PowerClerk for use by the verification team and Energy Trust staff. If there are any issues attaching e-manuals due to size limits, please email the e-manual to solar@energytrust.org. Note: a physical manual must still be provided to new construction and commercial customers.
