How to establish battery storage equipment eligibility

With the launch of commercial battery storage incentives, Energy Trust has seen a surge in requests to include equipment for battery storage incentive eligibility. Trade allies can streamline the approval process for new equipment eligibility by first reviewing the Battery Storage Incentive Eligibility Requirements.

If the desired equipment appears to be eligible, the next step is to email the documents below to Kyle Holmes. If you submit an incentive application with a battery that isn’t included on the approved list, we will pause our processing of the application until review of battery eligibility is complete.

Requests should include:

  • Specifications Sheet (cut-sheet)
  • Installation Manual
  • Warranty Documentation (>10 years or discharge cycle equivalent)
  • UL 9540 Certification from ORBCD approved electrical testing lab
    • NOTE: Not all electrical testing laboratories are approved.

Once received, Energy Trust will review the documentation and share the results. Newly approved equipment will be included on the eligible systems list in the following monthly update.

If you have questions about battery storage equipment eligibility, please reach out to Kyle Holmes.
