Energy Trust is proud to support the innovative people who make net zero buildings possible, from current industry professionals to the leaders of tomorrow. Through our fellowship and internship grants, we aim to create a sustainable future where new buildings produce as much energy as they consume. Energy Trust is now seeking applications for net zero grants, which are available to professionals and New Buildings trade allies and are awarded annually.

The Net Zero Emerging Leaders Internship application is now open. Energy Trust’s New Buildings program awards multiple grants – of up to $8,000 each – to support architecture and engineering firms in hiring interns to help them track and meet their American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2030 Commitment. Over 12 weeks, student interns work with firm mentors to help evolve design practices, meet energy targets and advance net zero buildings by 2030. Visit the Learn more about the grant and apply now.

Aside from the fellowship and internship grants, Energy Trust of Oregon offers free on-demand trainings on code updates and new technologies, such as commercial heat pump water heaters and variable refrigerant flow systems. The online format allows you to learn at your own pace and access training when and where it’s convenient for you. Upon finishing each training, you will have the option to receive a certificate of completion and professional continuing education credits (CEUs).

  Available on-demand trainings:

  • Review of the Commercial Provisions of the 2021 OEESC
  • Commercial Heat Pump Water Heater Systems: Sizing and Modeling
  • Optimizing Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Systems: Design to Operation
