Rusted Gate Farm: Driving innovation, commerce, and sustainability in support of small family farms in Southern Oregon

Join us for an Allies for Efficiency in-person event on April 3 at Rusted Gate Farm, a non-profit dedicated to supporting small farms through demonstration, education and innovation.

Hear directly from the project team that built and designed a 6,000+ square foot net-zero learning center and how this facility supports Rusted Gate’s mission in the community. The project team utilized energy analyses and modeling, high-performance envelope design and a solar feasibility study to achieve the center’s Path to Net Zero designation through Energy Trust of Oregon.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn about:

  • How the project design embraces sustainability and resiliency with the choice of “fire-wise” building materials, FSC framing, beams, columns and finish woods
  • The energy efficient design features that support occupant health, comfort and productivity
  • Water-wise landscaping strategies, including rain garden features and low water plant materials
  • The solar farm features; roof-mounted and pole-mounted photovoltaic (PV) panel arrays were essential to meeting the net-zero design goals
  • The electric vehicle charging station
