Women in solar roundtable on February 23

On February 23, Energy Trust will hold a roundtable discussion and networking event focused on identifying opportunities for women to enter and grow in the solar industry.

The event will be the evening before the Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association annual member meeting on February 24 to allow solar trade allies who have traveled from around the state to participate in both meetings. Attendance is not limited and everyone interested in participating in the discussion is welcome.

Suzanne Leta Liou, Manager of Global Market Strategy at SunPower and Chair of Solar Energy Industries Association’s Women’s Empowerment Initiative, will be leading the discussion. “Diversity in the solar industry is important to innovation, growth and meeting our customers’ needs,” said Leta Liou, “Events like this allow the industry to increase opportunities and leadership roles for women, which is what will drive forward progress.”

Event registration is free but donations will be accepted at the event and go to benefit Girls Build, a nonprofit organization dedicated to putting tools in the hands of girls, and letting them explore the world of building.
