Announcing a new income-qualified solar incentive

A family standing in front of their home that has solar panels on it.Energy Trust recently launched Solar Within Reach, a new solar installation offering that provides an increased incentive rate for income-qualified homeowners. It will feature higher incentives to offset a greater portion of the upfront cost of a project and to increase access to solar for more Oregonians.

To be eligible for this offer, the homeowner must be a Pacific Power or Portland General Electric customer, have gross annual income at or below the income threshold for their household size, and work with a qualifying Solar trade ally contractor.

To participate in Solar Within Reach a Solar trade ally must have a 5-star rating with no disciplinary action or unresolved customer complaints, complete program training videos, and offer a 7-year full system workmanship warranty.

The incentive rate for this offer is set at $1.50/W up to $9,000 maximum incentive per home. For a project to qualify for the additional incentive the Solar trade ally must confirm the customer’s income by submitting an Income Verification Form as part of the application packet in PowerClerk.

We are coordinating with the Oregon Department of Energy and expect the Solar Within Reach incentive to align with the state’s new solar rebate program, however once the rules are finalized we will provide more information.

For more information about the new offer refer to the Solar Within Reach fact sheet.
