Win More Projects with Incentive Assignment
For many customers, the biggest barrier to moving forward with an energy-efficiency project is the upfront cost. Energy Trust of Oregon’s incentive assignment option allows Trade Allies to receive the incentive payment directly and apply it toward the customer’s project cost, reducing upfront costs for customers.
This can make projects easier to approve, especially when a lower project price helps avoid a lengthy capital approval process.
Used strategically, incentive assignment can help you:
- Close more jobs
- Shorten sales cycles
- Differentiate yourself from competitors
- Address customer concerns about cost or down payment requirements
Trade Allies can position incentive assignment as a value-added service that helps reduce upfront costs, clarify the customer’s net project cost and make it easier to move projects forward. When combined with clear customer communication and available pre-approval support, incentive assignment can reduce project friction and create a competitive advantage.
How it works
- Confirm project eligibility. Review incentive requirements and contact your Trade Ally Manager with any questions. If not a rebate form project, work with energy trust to develop estimated incentive offer.
- Complete the project and submit documentation. Submit all required paperwork to receive incentives.
- Sign the assignment form with the customer. Once the project is complete, both the customer and Trade Ally sign the form so the incentive can be paid directly to the Trade Ally. Reach out to your Trade Ally Manager to receive the form.
- Receive payment. Trade Allies can also enroll in direct deposit to receive payments faster.
