Solar trade ally star ratings updated in October 2020

Energy Trust recently emailed new star rating reports to all Solar trade allies. Reports include updated ratings based on project activity between November 1, 2019 and October 31, 2020. Energy Trust’s Solar program updates star ratings three times per year based on applications submitted and installations completed during the prior 12 months, on a rolling calendar basis.

Highlights from this rating period include:

  • A total of 121 Solar trade allies were enrolled in the Energy Trust Trade Ally Network. Of those, 71 Solar trade allies submitted applications or completed projects, qualifying them to receive a star rating.
  • 58 Solar trade allies have a rating of four or five stars. That’s almost 50% of the trade allies rated during this period.
  • The most common installation corrections issued were for proper permits (2.1.7) and for cables, conduit, exposed conductors (2.3.12).

Program benefits, such as eligibility to receive free customer leads and access to business development funds or pilot programs, are determined by current star ratings. Solar trade allies can also use their rating as a selling point with customers to point out familiarity with best practices and Energy Trust incentive processes.

For complete details on how star ratings are determined, see the Solar Trade Ally Rating System guide. The next rating period ends January 31, 2021.
