Effective October 1, 2017, Oregon will adopt the 2017 edition of the NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (NEC). To prepare Solar trade allies for the code changes, Energy Trust is working with Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association (OSEIA) to offer statewide training on 2017 NEC code changes and solar installation best practices customized for Oregon.
Training attendees will receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for the Construction Contractors Board, Oregon Building Codes Division and North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. See the course descriptions and schedule below and register online to attend a class near you:
2017 NEC Changes and Solar PV Systems (8 hours)
This course will provide participants with knowledge of the NEC requirements to ensure consistent and uniform installation and inspection methods for photovoltaic systems. The course will focus on changes to the National Electrical Code that impact solar system installations. The course is intended to help electrical contractors, solar installers, building officials, engineers and designers to better understand code requirements for PV systems.

PV Best Practices and Energy Trust Installation Requirements (4 hours)
This course will provide electrical contractors, solar installers, building officials, engineers and designers with a better understanding of solar industry best practices and Energy Trust’s installation requirements. To ensure consistent and uniform installations for solar systems, the course will focus on current products, safety practices and requirements. It will be offered in Portland on November 9, 2017.
