New Homes incentive changes for Southwest Washington effective January 1, 2017

As of January 1, 2017, the New Homes program will update EPSTM incentives to align with the new Washington State Energy Code that went into effect on July 1, 2016. Projects that have received final verification and have been uploaded to the program database by the verifier by January 23 will be covered under the 2016 EPS incentive structure. Homes submitted after January 23 will need to be submitted under the new code.

Incentives are based on improvements in the home’s annual gas energy use over minimum code requirements, as demonstrated by energy modeling. Incentives for gas-heated homes are available based on a sliding scale of performance above code, starting at 10 percent. Incentives will vary depending on energy-efficiency improvements. Verifiers will still be eligible for a $100 cash incentive for each qualifying EPS home submitted to the program.
