Energy Trust offers increased incentives to income-qualified customers who make water heating upgrades through Savings Within Reach. For tier 3 heat pump water heaters, the standard incentive is $300; income-qualified customers can receive a $600 incentive.
To qualify, eligible models must:
- Replace an existing electric water heater
- Meet Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance’s Advanced Water Heater Specification
- Be installed by a Hot Water Solutions rebate-eligible contractor
To meet requirements for Savings Within Reach, a customer must complete the Income Verification Application (Form 310MIT) and the Program Incentive Application (Form 320MIT) prior to beginning work. Participating Savings Within Reach trade allies receive incentives for qualifying projects, deduct the amount from the customer’s invoice and must submit incentive forms on behalf of the customer. To obtain these forms, email the Existing Homes trade ally team.
Eligible trade allies can also offer financing with repayment through utility bills to Savings Within Reach participants through the Savings Within Reach On-bill Repayment Application (Form 321MIT).
