Reminder: Existing Buildings incentive changes effective January 1, 2015


Effective January 1, 2015, Energy Trust has updated and expanded incentives for Existing Buildings energy-efficient measures. To learn more details about these changes, attend the Trade Ally Winter Session on February 10 and refer to the Energy Trust website and Oregon Incentives brochure.

New incentives offered in 2015 include:

Insulation

  • Roof: R-Value 5 or less upgraded to at least R-20

Foodservice equipment

  • Electric vat fryers
  • Electric griddles
  • Electric/gas combination ovens

IT/data center

  • Occupancy sensor plug strips
  • Load sensing plug strips

The following incentive requirements have been updated for 2015:

  • Attic, wall and roof insulation measures for buildings under 50,000 square feet
  • HVAC unit heaters: Minimum 92 percent thermal efficiency condensing units qualify
  • Radiant heaters: Removing efficiency requirement; all other requirements stay the same
  • Tankless water heaters: Office buildings do not qualify
  • Vent hoods: To qualify, both vent hood and makeup air horsepower must total at least 5 horsepower; Available to customers who heat their buildings with Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural and Cascade Natural Gas

Incentives for the following measures have been discontinued for 2015:

  • Ozone laundry
  • Grocery night covers
  • Auto door closers
