Is your project eligible for Existing Homes or Multifamily incentives?

It can be difficult to determine if a structure qualifies for Existing Homes or Multifamily incentives. Use this helpful guide to help determine which incentives are available for your project:

  • If the structure has a wall, ceiling or floor that connects with another residence, the home and/or structure is eligible for Multifamily incentives, unless it’s a mother-in-law suite.
  • Where multiple buildings exist on a single property, the structure must have a separate power meter to qualify for Existing Homes incentives.
  • Duplexes, triplexes, four-plexes, townhomes and condominiums, campus living including dorms, sororities and fraternities and assisted or retirement living are eligible for Multifamily incentives.
  • Accessory dwelling units, mother-in-law suites and single-family rental homes are eligible for Existing Homes incentives.
