For the first time, the Home Building Association of Greater Portland is hosting the BuildRight Conference in tandem with the Homes of Tomorrow Today Tour, offering building professionals the chance to learn and see the latest advancements in the residential construction industry.

2024 BuildRight Conference
For over 10 years, BuildRight has brought together builders and industry professionals to discuss advancements in energy-efficient technologies, building practices and workforce development in residential new construction and remodeling.
The 2024 BuildRight Conference takes place April 18-19, 2024, at the Factor Building in the Central Eastside Industrial District of Portland. This year’s conference theme is “Comfortable Buildings: Getting Them Right!” Attendees earn CCB, RESNET and NATE credits.
BuildRight will feature two keynote speakers this year:
- Allison Bailes, founder of Energy Vanguard and author of the bestselling book, A House Needs to Breathe… Or Does It?
- Mark LaLiberte, co-founder and president of Construction Instruction
Attendees can expect conference sessions to cover:
- Energy efficiency technologies and practices: HVAC, air sealing, EPS, Zero Energy Ready and more
- Business practices related to HR, risk management and accounting
- Construction contracts and employment law
- Building code updates

2024 Homes of Tomorrow Today Tour
See what’s possible with energy-efficient buildings at the 2024 Homes of Tomorrow Today Tour, presented by Portland General Electric and sponsored by Energy Trust of Oregon and Earth Advantage.
The tour is an opportunity to meet local builders and tour newly constructed, sustainable, cost-efficient, durable and comfortable homes throughout the Portland region. This three-day event gives attendees insight into the future of building standards and best practices. Each participating home will have:
- Heat pumps for space heating and/or water heating
- An EPS
- One advanced electrical feature: Solar ready, EV ready, solar installed, solar + storage, induction range
