The Oregon Department of Energy offers several Opportunity Announcements each year to assist Oregonians in generating renewable and sustainable energy projects. The first Opportunity Announcement for fiscal year 2016 focuses on providing tax credits for upgrades to commercial, agricultural and industrial facilities, including food processing.

Tax credits are available for

• Commercial: Efficient lab hoods, exhaust systems and specialized lighting
• Industrial/manufacturing: Modifications to improve melting, mixing, conveying and drying processes
• Agricultural: Replacing land preparation operations with low- or no-till drill planting
• Food: Efficient blanching, freezing, packaging and dehydrating systems
