New Homes incentive updates effective January 1, 2015


Energy Trust updates incentives on January 1 of each year. The following changes will be effective January 1, 2015, and apply to the New Homes program:

  • ENERGY STAR® certification—Northwest ENERGY STAR® Homes, NWESH, discontinued the Builder Option Package, BOP, as of June 30, 2014. All homes entered into the database before this sunset date must be certified by December 31, 2014. As of January 1, 2014 the, BOP will no longer be available to builders in southwest Washington and Energy Trust will no longer provide an incentive for BOP certification. NWESH is transitioning to the Performance Path option and Energy Trust will provide a $500 incentive to builders that receive ENERGY STAR certification.
  • Tankless water heater—The builder incentive for installation of tankless water heaters in New Homes will be discontinued in 2015.
