Northwest Control Company accepts an award during the 2017 Winter Trade Ally Session for Outstanding Contribution in Promoting Energy Efficiency, gaining recognition as one of the top 10 contributors of custom projects in 2016.

Trade allies are invited to join us for the Existing Buildings Winter Trade Ally Event on Tuesday, February 20, from 7:30 AM – 11:45 AM. This event is a great way for commercial non-lighting trade allies to gather and learn strategies and tips to help grow their businesses.

Our keynote speakers will be Josh Lehrer from the State of Oregon, and Stephen Simms from the Bureau of Labor and Industries. Josh will discuss Oregon’s current economic conditions and outlook, in addition to opportunities in the construction market. Stephen will share information about programs across the state to increase workforce diversity and address skilled labor shortages.

The Winter Trade Ally Event will also feature three breakout sessions:

Benchmarking and the role of the trade ally: Account managers Alex Inman and Kathleen Reinhardt-Waring, along with representatives from the City of Portland and Prosper Portland’s financing program, PropertyFit, will discuss how customer projects can successfully leverage these programs and increase savings.

Labor planning and diversity: Stephen Simms will join Eloisa Miller from the Governor’s Office, Carrie Hulse from the Certification Office of Business Inclusion and Diversity (COBID), and Kelly Haines from Workforce Systems, in a facilitated panel discussion addressing recruitment, retention and development of labor, as well as how to grow relationships with certified subcontractors.

Becoming an integrated trade ally: Our own trade ally coordinators, Aaron Lazelle and Alex Snook, will explain what makes a “fully integrated trade ally.” They will review tips on how to best leverage Existing Buildings program resources to support the growth of your business in a way that interacts seamlessly with your company.

The event is free and includes complimentary breakfast and parking, but space is limited. Register now!
