Neil Kelly wins U.S. Department of Energy Housing Innovation Award

This fall, the U.S. Department of Energy presented Neil Kelly Home Performance with a Housing Innovation Award during the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance’s Excellence in Building Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. Neil Kelly Company was one of four Home Performance contractors nationwide to receive the prestigious award.

The award recognized Neil Kelly’s many initiatives, as well as the work it performed during the Existing Homes quality consultation project. As a result of the consultation project, Neil Kelly designed and implemented a quality management plan that provides a detailed overview of the company’s quality processes and standards to all employees.

A Neil Kelly Home Performance process improvement committee now meets monthly to identify areas for improvement and brainstorm ideas to improve processes and increase efficiency. The committee develops Neil Kelly’s quality specifications, training materials and project completion protocol and checklists for installation crews, as well as quality completion checklists for subcontractors. This process strengthens the internal feedback loop from crew members to consultants and managers. It also provides more accurate information for management to identify root causes of any issues on a project.

Congratulations to Neil Kelly on its award and for its dedicated effort during the quality consultation.
