Help your commercial customers capture energy savings and keep their small server rooms and closets cool with Energy Trust’s server/telecom room mini-split air conditioning incentives. Customers can receive incentives of $250 per ton of cooling capacity for qualifying units (up to a maximum of 4.5 tons). Both mini-split air conditioners and mini-split heat pumps are eligible.
Requirements:
- SEER or SEER2 greater than 18
- Maximum capacity of 4.5 tons (54,000 Btu/hr)
- Maximum of 2 units per space/room
- Space must be exclusively used for servers, communications, or other data equipment
- New and replacement applications are eligible
- Redundant units do not qualify
Computer room air conditioner (CRAC) and computer room air handler (CRAH) units are not eligible for the $250 per ton incentive. When gathering application materials, be sure to note the server closet design load in kilowatts (kW) as this is required for the application.
All commercial buildings are eligible provided the other requirements are met. If a project doesn’t meet these requirements, Energy Trust may still be able to help. Custom incentives may be available for projects with units larger than 4.5 tons or where more than two units per room are required.
