Existing Homes incentive updates effective January 1, 2015


As part of ongoing efforts to offer cost-effective savings to customers, Energy Trust updates some incentives on January 1 of each year. The following Existing Homes incentive changes will go into effect January 1, 2015. Any incentives not noted below will remain at the current 2014 levels. The Trade Ally Resources web pages and cash incentive materials will be updated to reflect these changes by December 31, 2014.

Incentives and requirement changes effective January 1, 2015:

  • Windows—Tier 1 windows, currently U-Value of 0.26 to 0.30, will be modified to U-Value of 0.28-0.30, and the incentive will be reduced to $1.75 per square foot from $2.25 per square foot. Tier 2 windows, currently U-Value of less than or equal to 0.25, will be modified to U-Value of less than or equal to 0.27, and the incentive will be increased to $4 per square foot from $3.50 per square foot.
  • Fireplaces—The incentive for tier 1 gas fireplaces with an FE of 65 to 69 percent will be discontinued. The new incentive will be $250 for qualifying tier 1 gas fireplaces with an FE of 70 to 74 percent, and $350 for qualifying tier 2 gas fireplaces with an FE of 75 percent or greater.
  • Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®—The $150 Home Performance assessment incentive will be discontinued.
  • Water Heaters—All incentives for electric resistance water heaters will be discontinued in 2015. Gas tank and heat pump water heater incentives will still be available.
  • Pool Pumps—The incentive for qualifying pool pumps will be reduced to $200 from $350.

New incentives effective January 1, 2015:

  • EPSTM—This incentive provides $75 for the completion of an energy performance score on a qualified single family home. Only trade allies enrolled as an EPS Rater will be eligible to offer this incentive. In order to qualify for this incentive, an EPS must be finalized in CAKESystemsTM software as either “unofficial” or “official.” EPS submissions for Clean Energy Works customers are not eligible for this incentive.
  • Multiple Upgrade Incentive—This incentive provides $100 to customers or contractors who are applying for two or more energy upgrade incentives at the same time. 2015 incentive application forms with qualifying measures will include an option to apply for the multiple upgrade incentive. All incentive applications for eligible projects must be submitted together, must be installed on the same site address and must be installed on or after January 1, 2015. This incentive is not eligible for Savings Within Reach projects, Existing Manufactured Homes no-cost services and projects for NW Natural customers in Washington. In addition, the following energy upgrades are not eligible: Instant Savings Measures, spa cover, pool pump, alternative wastewater or self-installed incentives.
