Energy Trust of Oregon’s gas fireplace incentives of $150 and $250 will end on December 31, 2026 in response to market changes, including a shift toward more efficient models.

Efficient models have become the norm rather than the exception as equipment standards have improved. High-efficiency models have become widely available, and customers are purchasing them more often on their own, making incentives less relevant. This led to a decision to discontinue the incentives based on the market baseline shift to high-efficiency equipment.

Some utilities still offer their own promotions on efficient natural gas equipment separate from Energy Trust. Utility promotions will not be impacted by this incentive change, but Energy Trust encourages trade allies and customers to check with their utilities regarding promotion details and deadlines.

As 2026 comes to a close, please work with your customers to install equipment and submit complete applications by December 31, 2026. Applications must be submitted by the deadline to remain eligible for incentives and allow time for processing and payment.
