Future updates to the Residential Existing Single-Family & Multifamily Specifications Manual

Energy Trust of Oregon updates the Specifications Manual each year to reflect changes in program requirements, input from field staff and feedback from trade allies. The 2020 Specifications Manual will go into effect on June 26, 2020. The full manual will be available for download from the Home Retrofit Forms page of Insider.

Trade allies may request one printed copy of the manual. To request a printed copy, or provide feedback on proposed updates, please complete this quick survey by May 22, 2020. Printed copies will be mailed by the end of June.

The survey is an opportunity for trade allies to review and provide feedback on the proposed updates. We appreciate your input and will consider it when finalizing changes to the manual.

Proposed 2020 updates are as follows:

  • Ductless heat pumps. Requirements regarding site and indoor head location, eligibility and additional best practice guidelines specific to ductless heat pumps are included in the new ductless heat pump section of the manual.
  • Measure changes. The manual reflects all updated and discontinued measures as of January 1, 2020, such as inclusion of rim joist and knee wall insulation in the wall insulation measure.
  • Spanish translation. The 2020 Specifications Manual will be available in Spanish.

If you have questions about the Specifications Manual or annual update process, please email the Residential trade ally team or call 1.866.365.3526.
