Energy Trust services now available to Avista customers

As of January 1, 2017, Energy Trust’s full range of natural gas services and programs are available to Avista residential and eligible business customers in Oregon. Energy Trust now serves Oregon customers of Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural, Cascade Natural Gas and Avista, and Washington customers of NW Natural.

Avista provides natural gas service to more than 90,000 customers in Roseburg, Medford, Klamath Falls, La Grande and surrounding areas. This change allows Energy Trust to serve new households and businesses throughout the Avista service territory, and provide comprehensive natural gas and electricity programs to Southern Oregon customers served by Avista and Pacific Power.

“We’re pleased to round out our services to customers in Avista territory,” said Michael Colgrove, executive director, Energy Trust. “Oregonians in Southern Oregon and La Grande will be able to take advantage of assistance from our trade ally contractors and services and cash incentives to reduce energy use and save on their energy bills.”

Energy Trust’s incentives range from efficient gas fireplaces and water heaters for new and existing homes to prescriptive and custom incentives for eligible commercial and industrial customers. All qualifying services and incentives are listed at www.energytrust.org.

Following a decision by the Oregon Public Utility Commission in spring 2016, the two organizations began planning for a transition of Avista’s energy-efficiency service offerings to Energy Trust. Later in July, Energy Trust started serving Avista customers on a limited basis by providing discounted residential showerheads through retail channels, incentives for gas fireplaces at select retailers and new commercial construction design assistance.
