In May, Energy Trust’s Residential team delivered ductless heat pump training in Central Oregon, attended by a well engaged group of trade allies and community partners. This two-day training opportunity featured a classroom session focused on an introduction to heat pump technology, installation tools, installation sequence, load calculations, and licensing requirements, followed by hands-on experience.

Hands-on training was held at a home in Bend, where attendees installed a single-head ductless heat pump system, learning how to install the indoor and outdoor units, how to properly flare line sets, and how to ensure a leak free refrigerant system. Following installation, trainees tested the system, programmed the controller, and discussed the importance of customer education.
