Featured Builder: Stafford Homes & Land – Pringle Creek Development

When setting out to plan their 50-home Pringle Creek development in Salem, Stafford Homes & Land sought to answer one question: “What do people need to create an unparalleled living experience?” Their answer was to develop a sustainable living community that could bring neighbors together.

Using the values of community, nature and innovation, a group of residents and developers in Salem, Oregon identified the opportunity to provide a new model of living for fellow Salem residents. These families shared an appreciation for the Willamette Valley and understood the importance of ecological stewardship for their local environment.

All Pringle Creek homes obtained an EPSTM from Energy Trust of Oregon, with the goal of improved performance compared to a similar home built to code. In addition, Stafford Homes & Land pursued LEED Gold certification for all homes. Most homes built solar ready, while all others are built zero energy ready.

The thermal envelope and tight air sealing aspects of the homes provide Pringle Creek residents with overall comfort and energy cost savings. Even early in construction, the builder also prioritized using recycled materials such as concrete and wood when possible.

One of the model homes, the Modern Seville, participated in the 2022 Homes of Tomorrow Today tour. This home is ready for solar and an EV charger to be installed and has a superior building shell. Some models in the development were even built net zero.
