New Homes incentive changes effective January 1, 2017

Energy Trust updates incentives on January 1 of each year. The following changes will be effective January 1, 2017, and only apply to the New Homes program

  • EPS Incentives—The incentives for EPS homes have been recalculated resulting in slight reductions to incentive amounts. Projects that have received final verification and have been uploaded to the program database by the verifier by January 11 will be covered under the 2016 EPS incentive structure.
  • Air sealing—The $125 air sealing incentive offered to homes not receiving an EPS will no longer be available after 2016.

EPSIncentives are based on improvements in the home’s annual energy use over minimum code requirements, as demonstrated by energy modeling. Incentives are available on a sliding scale of performance above code, starting at 10 percent improvement. Incentives will vary depending on energy-efficiency improvements and performance above code.$600-$5,000$600-$4,680
