Bundle incentives in convenience stores for more savings

EB_StoreAre you working on a lighting project in a convenience store? Consider replacing the walk-in cooler evaporator fan motor with an electronically commuted motor. Bundling energy-efficiency measures can benefit your customers by reducing operating costs.

A walk-in fan electronically commuted motor can yield an estimated annual savings of 1,245 kilowatt hours and save customers $75 annually. Most convenience store walk-in coolers have between six and 10 fan motors, so replacing them all could save the store operator between $450 and $750 per year.

With an increased incentive amount in 2016 of $120 per motor replaced, the simple payback for motors alone is between one to three months. If the lighting project has a simple payback of two to three years, adding the walk-in fan electronically commuted motor increases the customer’s return on investment.
