Tips and tricks lead to faster application processing

Fast payment tip of the month
A complete detailed invoice is one simple way to prevent payment delays. Missing or incomplete invoices delay application processing, so before submitting an incentive application, make sure the invoice includes:

  • A detailed description of the work completed, including equipment make and model when applicable.
  • The cost of all work performed, including subtotals before incentives or discounts, along with the final total cost.
  • Any Energy Trust of Oregon instant incentives or Savings Within Reach incentives clearly itemized and labeled as a deduction or credit on the invoice.
  • Required documentation showing the invoice has been paid in full if you are applying on behalf of a customer who will receive the incentive payment directly.

Taking a few extra moments to review the invoice before submission can help reduce requests for missing information and keep the application moving forward to payment.

Incentive tip of the month
Learning how to easily verify extended-capacity heat pump equipment (ECHP) eligibility can save you time and effort before your next installation. Since ECHP equipment requirements changed in 2026, Energy Trust no longer uses a qualified products list. Instead, trade allies can verify whether an equipment combination meets ECHP requirements using the AHRI Directory.

Search the AHRI Directory for the indoor and outdoor equipment models you are installing and review the CEE tier. Equipment combinations listed as “CEE Tier 1 Path A” meet Energy Trust’s ECHP equipment requirement. If a CEE tier is not listed in the AHRI Directory, you can still determine whether the system qualifies by reviewing the ratings on its AHRI certificate and comparing them with Energy Trust’s Extended Capacity Heat Pump System Qualifiers.

Remember that equipment eligibility is only one part of incentive eligibility. Be sure the project also meets all applicable Energy Trust incentive and installation requirements.
