Energy Trust of Oregon’s Home Retrofit program will require active trade allies and community partners to complete an annual refresher training on the Home Retrofit Specifications Manual beginning in 2027. The goal of this new requirement is to ensure that all those working with the program are up to date on Energy Trust specifications and industry best practices.

Current trade allies and community partners will be required to complete the training in the first quarter of 2027 (January – March). Participating trade allies and community partners will be notified on a monthly basis if they still need to complete Specifications Manual training, and their applications will no longer be processed beginning April 1, 2027, until the training requirement is met.

To ensure training is available to all trade allies and community partners, the Home Retrofit team will increase the number of sessions offered during Q1 2027. While only one representative from each organization is required to attend, Energy Trust recommends that anyone who works in assessment, sales, or installation participate in this technical training opportunity.
