Energy Trust’s Residential team delivered a manufactured home duct sealing and repair training to an engaged group of Central Oregon trade allies in June. This two-day training opportunity featured a classroom session focused on the building science of manufactured homes, duct leakage diagnostics, duct sealing and repair methods, and identifying opportunities for duct sealing, followed by hands-on training.  

Two manufactured homes in Bend were selected for hands-on training, and attendees measured duct leakage, rebuilt and sealed duct boots inside and replaced crossover duct connectors underneath both homes. Following repairs, attendees re-measured duct leakage, achieving a reduction of almost 75% in both homes.
