Every year, the Home Building Association of Greater Portland hosts the BuildRight Conference + Expo to explore the latest building innovations in residential new construction and remodeling. The conference brings together builders, designers, HVAC contractors, and other industry professionals from across the Pacific Northwest to discuss and share best practices for building high performance homes. 2025 BuildRight Conference + Expo
The 2025 BuildRight conference will take place April 30 – May 1, 2025, at the Redd on Salmon in the Portland’s Central Eastside Industrial District. This year’s conference theme will be “Sealing the Future: Innovations in Building Envelope Performance,” and will highlight the importance of the building envelope when building high-performance homes.
Attendees can earn CCB and RESNET credits while gaining insights into:
- The latest energy efficiency technologies
- Advanced energy efficiency practices
- Building code updates
- Smart home technologies
- High performance innovations
Two keynote speakers will be featured:
- Gord Cooke, P.E., Partner with Construction Instruction Inc.

Pre-conference Day
This year, Energy & Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA) is collaborating with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and BuildRight to host a pre-conference training day. The event is called “How to Build a Zero Energy Ready Home” and will be led by BuildRight’s keynote speaker Gord Cooke. Builders that certify to the US DOE Zero Energy Ready Home certification can earn a $5,000 tax credit. The event will take place in the same location as BuildRight on Tuesday, April 29.
Attendees will learn practical solutions to high performance building including:
- Advanced wall systems
- High-performance mechanical systems
- Renewable energy integration
