$3 million in tax credits available through the Oregon Department of Energy


The Oregon Department of Energy announced two new opportunity announcements for Small Premium and Competitively Selected Projects.

Applicants can apply for tax credits for Small Premium Projects from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. The state has approximately $1 million in tax credits available. Eligible project types include:

  • Commercial indoor lighting (new project type available July 1, 2015)
  • LED outdoor lighting
  • Solar thermal water heating
  • Heat pump service water heating
  • Building envelope thermal improvement

Applicants can apply for tax credits for Competitively Selected Projects, focusing on commercial buildings, building envelopes and sustainable buildings, from July 20, 2015 through August 21, 2015. The state has approximately $2 million in tax credits available for these projects. Eligible project types include:

  • Commercial building systems such as modifications to lighting, heating and/or cooling and ventilation systems in commercial buildings that exceed current code
  • Building envelopes with wall systems, roof systems, fenestration, thermal insulation, solar insulation control, air/weather barrier systems and building enclosure systems that exceed current code
  • Sustainable buildings that demonstrate energy savings and sustainable construction practices relating to site development and land use, material and water resource use, indoor environmental and health quality promotion and energy conservation
