Volunteers needed for Clark Public Utilities Solar Car Challenge

Over 120 teams of K-12 students will compete for best solar car design. The Clark Public Utilities Solar Car Challenge needs volunteers of all skill levels, and has a special need for people with engineering, renewable energy, technical and science backgrounds. The event takes place on March 10, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

In its inaugural year, the Solar Car Challenge will bring together student teams from across Clark County to compete. Funded by voluntary contributions to the utility’s Green Lights program in support of renewable energy development, the CE Clean Energy Bright Futures program helps prepare students for clean energy careers. Formerly known as Solar 4R Schools, CE is offered as an educational program of the utility’s Green Lights partner, the Bonneville Environmental Foundation.
