DESCRIPTION:Join us on June 22 for a free virtual training on the commercial lighting and controls provisions of the 2021 OEESC and earn 1 CCB continuing education credits (CEUs) and 1 AIA learning units (LU). \nDuring this training\, attendees will learn about the new conditions in the recently adopted 2021 Oregon Energy Code\, based on ASHRAE 90.1-2019\, including new lighting power allowances\, occupancy sensors and daylight controls. In addition\, the training will cover the following topics: \n\nCommercial provisions of the OEESC\, including lighting and controls requirements for typical Oregon buildings.\nHow to use LEDs with Luminaire Level Lighting Controls to meet and exceed code.\nHow to navigate Energy Trust’s New Buildings Lighting Calculator Tool for code compliance.\n\nAbout the presenters \nDan Kuhl\, LC\, senior lighting specialist\, Evergreen Consulting Group \nDan is a seasoned lighting specialist with over 25 years of lighting industry experience. He is the former Oregon vice-president of the Illuminating Engineering Society and a current board member. Dan qualified for the Lighting Certified Professional designation from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions. He is also a certified trainer for American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Building Operator Certification. \nNathan Beck\, senior controls specialist\, Solus \nNathan Beck has been in the lighting and controls industry since 2005 and specializes in lighting controls systems. To earn the designation\, attendees must pass a designation exam and have completed and passed prerequisite trainings. \n12 Steps to Affordable Zero Energy Design & Construction\nIt’s generally accepted that improvements to the thermal envelope are fundamental. These include high levels of insulation\, reduction of thermal bridges and advanced air sealing. However\, significant efficiency improvements in heating and cooling equipment and the rapid drop in the cost of rooftop solar electric systems offer new options for cost-effective efficiency packages. There have never been so many ZE options to choose from. DESCRIPTION:Energy modeling for compliance with 2019 Oregon energy code  \nEnergy Trust of Oregon invites you to a webinar training on the new ASHRAE Standard 90.1 2016 Appendix G modeling protocol. \nThis one-hour training will introduce attendees to the general concepts of the new ASHRAE Standard 90.1 2016 Appendix G modeling protocol which went into effect on January 1\, 2020. \nThe 90.1 2016 Appendix G modeling protocol is integral to many above-code programs such as the EPA ENERGY STAR® Multifamily High Rise program and the LEED NC v4 Alternative Performance Rating Method pilot credit. \nThis training is designed to provide professionals with energy modeling\, architectural and engineering backgrounds an overview of new modeling-based compliance options within the state energy code. The presenter will cover the general concepts of the ASHRAE Standard 90.1 2016 Appendix G modeling protocol\, highlight its differences from other methods and provide an overview of the simulation requirements and compliance calculations. \nAbout the presenter: \nMaria Karpman\, LEED AP\, BEMP\, CEM \nMaria has 20 years of experience in building science\, energy modeling and software design and has completed numerous energy modeling projects for new and existing buildings. Maria is a member of the ASHRAE Standard 90.1 committee. She has developed and delivered trainings on energy modeling and performance-based code compliance that have been attended by over 1\,000 building industry professionals. Maria holds advanced degrees in engineering and computer science\, has served as an NYU adjunct faculty member and is the principal of Karpman Consulting.
