Newly redesigned Residential incentive applications

Energy Trust is excited to announce newly redesigned Residential incentive applications for HVAC, Water Heating, and Weatherization. The updates are based on feedback from customers, trade allies and Energy Trust staff and are intended to simplify the applications and make them easier to fill out.

Which forms have changed?

Home Retrofit forms for HVAC, Water Heating, and Weatherization.

 What has changed?

  • Less to fill in. Some fields have been removed, meaning less time and effort is needed to fill out forms.
  • More defined fields. Form fields have been organized into their own boxes, making it easier to write the information in the correct places.
  • Separate sections. Contractor and customer sections have been separated to make it clear who should fill out which portions of the forms.
  • Duplicate information removed. Information that already appears in program information (PI) sheets has been removed to make forms easier to read.
  • Shorter overall form. These updates have reduced the forms by multiple pages.

Who is affected?

  • Trade allies and contractors who use the Home Retrofit application forms.

When will changes go into effect?

  • The new forms are published as of April 28, 2025. Energy Trust will still accept the previous forms for 90 days after the new versions are posted, but we encourage trade allies to make the switch right away.

Why have the forms changed?

  • Trade ally and customer feedback pointed to a need for simplified forms.
  • The new forms are easier to complete and more accessible.
  • The new forms will help reduce missing information, a key cause of processing delays, by reducing the number of required fields, removing unnecessary language and improving form layout.

The newly streamlined Residential forms are the first step in a larger effort to simplify incentive applications across all Energy Trust programs. Watch for additional streamlined forms in coming months.

Please reach out to Energy Trust’s trade ally team or your account manager if you have questions or feedback about the new forms. We appreciate your support and your efforts to help customers save energy and money.
