New Homes EPS incentives for Washington available February 1, 2016

Energy Trust is expanding EPS™ incentives to include builders in SW Washington beginning February 1, 2016.

EPS is a scoring system that helps define a home’s energy consumption, utility costs and carbon footprint. It also serves as a pathway and promotional tool for builders who understand the added value of homes that use energy wisely. If you’re a builder who strives to build quality, comfort and efficiency into your homes, EPS is a tremendous resource that benefits both you and the homebuyer. Meet Washington EPS requirements and receive cash incentives of up to $900 per home. In addition, verifiers participating in the program can receive a $100 cash incentive for each qualifying EPS home submitted to the program.

The following options are for illustration only and are a small fraction of the options available to trade ally builders for improving a home’s EPS and maximizing energy savings. Incentives are available for building gas heated homes based on one of five prescriptive pathways, or based on a sliding scale of performance above code, starting at 10 percent improvement. Incentives will vary depending on energy-efficiency improvements.

Incentives above are calculated by computer modeling of a 2,200 square foot house plan in Energy Trust and NW Natural service territory. Incentives are based on improvements in the home’s annual energy use over minimum code requirements, as demonstrated by energy modeling. Incentives are subject to funding availability and may change. Incentive examples are based on the 2012 Washington State Energy Code.
