DESCRIPTION:April 12 Building Energy Simulation Forum\nDefining the Standard of Care for Energy Modelers: An Overview of ASHRAE Standard 209 \nASHRAE Standard 209\, Energy Simulation Aided Design for Buildings\, aims to establish new\, minimum requirements for providing energy design assistance using building energy simulation and analysis. To comply with the Standard\, design teams will need to use modeling to evaluate energy-efficiency options earlier in the design process. He is also currently an ASHRAE SPC-209 sub-committee chair. David and his team focus on using energy modeling and other analysis methods to assess and improve the design and operation of buildings. He has provided services on a wide range of building projects\, from single-family homes to sports stadiums\, and his principal interest is expanding the use of actual performance data to inform the building modeling process. In addition to consulting\, David is key contributor to the development of CBECC-Com\, an open-source software for energy code compliance analysis.
